Day Five: When in Doubt, Honor Your Body's Wisdom

The other night when I was heading out for my run, I stopped to pay attention to how I was feeling.  I was tired.  It was cold out and I just really wanted to stay inside and curl up the couch.  I thought for a moment whether I was just avoiding a run out in the rain, and figured I just needed to force myself to do it.  But I teach my clients all the time that “forcing” anything never works.  It just sets you up for feelings of guilt, resentment and a total disregard for the reality of the situation.  In reality, I was just tired.  I chose to listen to my body and honor it’s inner wisdom.  And this paid off in the end.
