Julie’s Blog: When did you quit anything for 40 days?

It’s the beginning of a great new year, and I’m excited to re-launch my blog with some new concepts that I think you’ll enjoy.

I have decided to send you a message every day. Some messages will be brief – i.e. a Small Change, Big Impact tip or daily inspiration – and other messages will be more lengthy as I give you strategies and tips for leading a healthier life. My focus will be primarily healthy-weight and wellness, although this isn’t just about weight loss. I’m here to help you release ANYTHING that weighs you down, whether that be stress, extra pounds, your relationship to food and your body, or a weighty set of beliefs.

You can trust that I come from a place of deep understanding around all of these topics, and have a renewed passion and commitment to bringing powerful messages to the communities I serve.

Our theme for this month (through Feb. 28th) is “Letting Go”. Seems fitting, as today I started a 40-Day Sugar Fast, and can’t wait to share the journey with you. I’m very ready let go of processed sugar, as the holidays were a bit overdone. I will also be letting go of other sweeteners to include honey, agave nectar, stevia, and all artificial sweeteners (I’ve been craving Diet Coke which I gave up nearly 20 years ago!).

Please note: this is not a diet and I don’t need to lose weight. I’m not coming from a place of deprivation as I trust this process will: 1) provide enriching material and insight for my blogs and my coaching, and 2) set me free from newly formed cravings that I haven’t had in years. At the same time, I have no idea how this will evolve or what it will bring forth in my life…but I’m ready to find out. You, as a dedicated reader, get to benefit from  the nuances, stories, ah-ha’s, challenges and celebrations, and my hope is that you’ll find something that speaks to you.

Not every blog post this month will be about my sugar-fast..because that would be incredibly boring. But I will share great stuff relating to the fast, along with other news, tidbits, factoids and ideas that will stretch you a bit and make you think.

We’ll then start with a new theme on March 1st, and will begin again with new themes every month.

Remember to look for your weekly recipes too, which I’ll now send to you every Friday.

Let’s make this an incredible, life-giving year…I’m ready to have fun! Thank you for being an important part of my life and I appreciate your confidence in my care.

Please feel free to comment, as I’d like to hear if you’ve ever taken a sugar-break and how that played out for you. Or share what you’d like to Let Go of this year and how this community can support you.
